An accounting veteran with 40+ years of experience, Herb co-manages the firm with Gail Prather. He is also responsible for audit and tax clients, business valuations, litigation support and client profitability consultations. He offers special focus on exit planning strategies and business valuations. Herb launched his career in 1969, primarily working in the public accounting arena. Noted positions include serving as audit partner with two national accounting firms - Deloitte and Touche and Grant Thornton. He was also the founder and managing partner of the firm Kaufman/Kalman P.C., which was sold to Grant Thornton in 1989. Outside of public accounting, Herb worked as CFO of American BioMed, Inc., a NASDAQ development stage health care company, and CFO of Cold Tap, Inc., a manufacturer of specialty refrigeration equipment. He operated his own CPA firm from 2001 through 2007, before merging with Gail Prather. Active in his profession, Herb regularly hosts seminars for the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants-Houston Chapter and is a former adjunct faculty member at the Center for Professional Education in Broomall, Penn.
