  • How do I access my client portal?

You can use the link in the upper right hand corner of every page of the PratherKalman.com website.

 

  • Why do I have to use the client portal? Why can’t you just e-mail me my confidential?

Our client portal is a secure encrypted on-line source for viewing documents and transferring files unlike e-mail which is typically not encrypted and goes through many different servers before arriving to you. Using the client portal is the best way for us to keep your financial information secure.

 

  • Is the client portal secure?

There is a Citrix Secure ICA 128bit encryption holding all of the data. Data moving over the Internet is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL), the standard for e-commerce transaction security. Connections are secured at both ends with a firewall and a WAN router configured with Access Control List (ACL). 

 

  • How do I get my login?

If you have forgotten your login or have never gotten one, please contact us at 713-461-1038 and we can look up your login.

 

  • How do I get my password?

You set up your password when you register your portal. Passwords are hidden from us and we can’t tell you what it is. If you have forgotten your password, just try signing in with whatever you think it is. After you click login, a link will appear that says “Help! I’ve forgotten my password.” Click on that link and you will be able to reset your password through e-mail. For pictorial instructions, click here

 

  • How do I change my password, email, log-in or security questions?

Once you are signed into the portal, click on the “my account” option to update any of your information. Please note that this only changes it in the portal which does not communicate with our main client database. Please let us know that you have a new e-mail so we can update your file. 

 

  • Why does it say that I have zero documents when you have notified me that I have documents in the portal?

That is a common misconception. When you log-in, it actually says how many “new” documents you have. Unfortunately, the “new” flag is misleading as there are various reasons the documents you want will not be marked as “new”. Please just click on file exchange or document presentation and and look through the folders until you get to the  documents you need. 

 

  • What is document presentation? How do I find my confidential documents?

Document presentation is where you will find your confidential documents, tax organizer and other forms. For pictorial instructions on finding your documents, click here

 

  • What is file exchange?

File exchange is used mainly for you to send us documents, spreadsheets and other files needed to complete your project. At times, we will also use file exchange to send files back to you. 

 

  • How do I find my invoices in the portal?

Click on the bookkeeping option. If you have more than one account with us, you may have to select the account you want to see the invoices for. For pictorial instructions, click here

 

  • I am having trouble printing documents from the portal.

We recommend saving files to your computer first, then you can open and print them. This seems to eliminate most printing errors. 

 

  • How do I upload files to the portal?

You can upload files using file exchange. Click on file exchange, then click on the folder you want to upload the documents to. After that, an upload button will appear. Click upload and a window will appear with two options, select files and upload. Push the select files button. You can select files from your computer and they will stay pending until you click the uploadbutton. We receive immediate notice when you upload files. For pictorial instructions, click here

 

  • Is there a size limit for uploads to file exchange?

Yes, the size limit for uploads is 250 MB per file.
